Strip Trial Snapshot
Pallamallawa
During the 2023 season, CarbonBuilder Barley was tested against an untreated control on a trial site 25km east of Moree, NSW.
The trial conducted by Pure Grain included 10 strips (5 treated & 5 untreated), measuring both barley yield and the change in total carbon (TC).
Each strip had soil core samples measured (10 per strip) at baseline (prior to sowing) and after the crop was harvested to determine the build in soil carbon over the growing season.
Trial results demonstrated CarbonBuilder Barley increased yields by 10.3% and sequestered an additional 6.4 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalents per hectare (tCO2e/ha).

Forbes
During the 2023 season, CarbonBuilder Canola was tested against an untreated control on a trial site 15km south of Forbes.
The strip trial consisted of 10 strips (5 treated & 5 untreated), measuring both canola yield and the change in total carbon (TC).
Soil core samples (10 per strip) were taken at baseline (prior to sowing) and after the crop was harvested to determine the build in soil carbon over the growing season.
Trial results demonstrated that CarbonBuilder Canola not only increased yields by 11.3% but also sequestered an additional 10.2 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalents per hectare (tCO2e/ha) compared to the control.

Junee
During the 2023 season, CarbonBuilder Barley was tested against an untreated control on a farm 26 km north of Junee.
The strip trial consisted of 8 strips (4 treated & 4 untreated), measuring both barley yield and the change in total carbon (TC).
Soil core samples (10 per strip) were taken at baseline (prior to sowing) and after the crop was harvested to determine the build in soil carbon over the growing season.
The results demonstrated that CarbonBuilder Barley did not increase barley yield but did sequester an additional 12.0 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalents per hectare (tCO2e/ha) compared to the control.
