What is CarbonBuilder Canola?
Building stable soil carbon in your canola crop
CarbonBuilder Canola is one of our ground-breaking microbial products that supports canola’s natural ability to draw down carbon into cropping soils. CarbonBuilder Canola is an endophytic fungi applied as a seed dressing, and is compatible with most fungicidal seed treatments in Australia.
CarbonBuilder provides an important tool for growers looking to participate in soil carbon projects and increase crop productivity.
How does it work?
CarbonBuilder Canola has been developed and extensively tested in Australian cropping soils
The beneficial fungi in CarbonBuilder Canola are novel dark septate ascomycetous fungi belonging to the order Chaetosphaeriales. The product has been screened and tested at scale by our R&D team in Australia, with a focus on large-scale field testing across climatic zones and soil types.
What are the benefits?
Retain moisture
Improve nutrient uptake
Long-term soil health
Boost crop yield
What are the results?
CarbonBuilder Canola was trialled extensively through the 2022 & 2023 growing seasons. Here are the results.
Its performance was assessed independently by Kalyx during 14 small plot trials across 4 sites, showing 3.5 additional tonnes of CO2e per hectare and a 3.3% increase in grain yield.
